Our Core Beliefs

Redeem and Bless International Ministry is a Pentecostal Christian organisation founded on a set of core beliefs rooted in the Bible. These beliefs are central to the ministry's mission and purpose.

The Trinity

One True God: Redeem and Bless believes in one true God, eternally existing in three Persons: God the Father, God the Son (Jesus Christ), and God the Holy Spirit. God is the creator and sustainer of all things, holy, omnipotent, omnipresent, and omniscient. God is sovereign, unchanging, and the embodiment of love, goodness, mercy, justice, and faithfulness.

God the Father

The first Person of the Trinity, God the Father is the Creator of all things and the source of all fatherhood. He is the Father of Jesus Christ and of all those who are born again through faith in Jesus Christ. God the Father is Spirit and is to be worshipped in Spirit and in truth. His love is supremely demonstrated in giving His Son, Jesus Christ, for the redemption of humankind.

God the Son

The second Person of the Trinity, God the Son, is the Lord Jesus Christ. He is the eternal Son of God the Father, existing before all things. He became human to save humanity from sin. Jesus is the living Word, the Word made flesh, and the image of the invisible God. He is fully God and fully man. Jesus lived a sinless life, revealing God and His kingdom to humankind. He was crucified and died, offering His life as an atoning sacrifice for the sins of all people. His sacrifice is sufficient to provide forgiveness for all sins, for all people, everywhere, for all time. Jesus Christ was powerfully revealed as the Son of God when He rose from the dead. He ascended into heaven and is now exalted to the highest place at the right hand side of Father God. Jesus is Lord of all, and His name is above all names. He is supreme over all. One day, He will return in power and glory to gather His people for eternal life and to bring judgment on those who disobey the gospel. By His victory over death, Jesus Christ has destroyed the devil, who holds the power of death. Jesus is able to free all those who are afraid of death. Jesus Christ is victorious over all the powers of darkness and can deliver people from the power of the devil and all forces of evil.

God the Holy Spirit

The third Person of the Trinity, God the Holy Spirit is the Spirit of truth, sent by the Father and the Son to be with believers forever. He reveals the truth about Jesus, convicts people of sin, and the need for repentance. He gives new birth to those who repent and believe in Jesus Christ. The Holy Spirit produces ongoing spiritual changes in human lives, develops spiritual fruit in those who obey Him, and gives spiritual gifts for effective life and ministry. He is the Spirit of mission, leading and empowering believers to be witnesses of Jesus Christ among all nations. His supreme task is to bring glory to Jesus.

Humanity

Human beings were created in God's image, with the ability to enjoy a spiritual relationship with Him. They were also created with minds and wills, free to choose whether to obey God and enjoy fellowship with Him. Sadly, humanity chose to go its own way, turning away from God and sinning. This broke fellowship with God, preventing humans from freely relating to Him. Every human being is a sinner, deserving of death, and unable to save themselves. They cannot reach God's perfect standard of righteousness on their own.

Salvation

The Gospel of Salvation: Redeem and Bless believes that salvation from sin is essential for enjoying fellowship with God in this life and the next. God, out of His love for all people, sent His Son, Jesus Christ, into the world to save us. Jesus Christ is the only Saviour, and salvation is a free gift of God's grace, not earned but received by faith. The gospel is the good news of God's power to save those who believe in Jesus. Salvation is received through genuine repentance from sin and faith in Jesus Christ, setting a person free from the power and penalty of sin. In heaven, believers will be freed from the presence of sin. Salvation involves being born again by the Holy Spirit and brings many benefits, including:

  • Eternal life in fellowship with God
  • Adoption into God's family
  • Becoming a new creation
  • Being counted righteous before God
  • Entrance into the Kingdom of Jesus
  • Redemption and Sanctification

The Bible

Inspired Word of God: The Bible is the inspired Word of God, explaining all that is needed to receive salvation. It is absolutely authoritative, teaching what to believe and how to behave. The Bible is accepted by faith and is complete as it stands, not to be added to, subtracted from, or changed by tradition or new revelation. Biblical passages should be interpreted with due regard to their context, content, and purpose, in reverent obedience to the Holy Spirit, who reveals their true meaning.

"All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness..." (2 Tim 3:16-17)

The Devil

Powerful Spiritual Being: The devil is a powerful created spiritual being, the enemy of all Christians. He is the god of this world, seeking to destroy Jesus and all believers. The death and resurrection of Jesus Christ have stripped the devil of his power, but he is allowed to continue his evil works until the final judgment, when he and all evil spirits will be consigned to eternal torment. Until then, the devil tempts, accuses, deceives, and seeks to destroy God's people. However, Christians are entitled to exercise the authority of Jesus Christ over the power of the devil.

"Be self-controlled and alert. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour." (1 Pet 5:8)

The Church

Body of Christ: The Church is made up of all true Christians throughout the world, the body of Christ and the household of God. Christ is the Head of the Church, which exists to worship and serve God. The Church's primary task is to make disciples of Jesus Christ in every nation by proclaiming the gospel through word and deed. The Church functions through local congregations of believers, who gather for worship, prayer, teaching, fellowship, celebrating the Lord's Supper, and mutual ministry. Church members should always relate to one another in the love of the Lord and consider others before themselves. The Lord has given ministry gifts to the Church to build believers up together in unity and equip them to serve Him.

Christian Unity

Will of God: Unity among believers is the will of God, a testimony to Jesus Christ and evidence of God's love. God promises His blessing on those who dwell together in unity. Christian unity transcends differences of culture, background, experience, denomination, gender, and social standing. All believers should work together to proclaim the Kingdom of God and build one another up in love.

Ordinances & Holy Spirit

Baptism: Baptism is a symbolic act, representing the believer's identification with Christ in His death, burial, and resurrection. It signifies the burial of the old nature and way of life, and rising to new life in Christ. It symbolises the washing away of sins. Baptism should normally follow repentance and faith in the Lord, and is an integral part of Christian initiation, though not essential for salvation.
